Meet Tomme des Croquants, a historic (and utterly delicious) cheese from the Dordogne in southwest France. It brings together two of the region's specialities: a local tomme bathed three times in local walnut liqueur made from unripe walnut fruit and husk, then matured in wicker baskets.
You'll recognise the Tomme des Croquants by its woven patterned and dark brown rind. Inside, the cream-coloured paste is soft and smooth, with delicate notes of coffee butter biscuit, while the rind itself carries a deeper, more pronounced walnut character.
As this cheese is hand cut, the weight of the actual piece ordered will be estimated +/- 50g from the stated weight. We will ensure that the total price value of your order will be accurate or slightly in excess.
