What is raw honeycomb?
Honeycomb is the internal structure of the honeybee hive, that is built by bees from beeswax. The honeycomb is made up of repeating hexagonal cells that are used by the colony in many ways but when harvested are full of pure raw honey.
Can you eat honeycomb?
The beeswax comb that contains raw honey is 100% natural and edible. Whilst our system does not break down beeswax, it is safe to eat and contains honey and pollen which are packed full of nutritious vitamins, enzymes and antioxidants.
How do I use honeycomb?
Honeycomb can be enjoyed very simply by just chewing on a piece to enjoy the raw honey and texture of the beeswax. Other uses include adding a piece to accompany a creamy brie or goats cheese, letting it melt on crumpets and porridge or topping yogurt or ice cream to add a touch of decadence to simple desserts.
